The Duchess of Richmond Ball, Antiquity, 15th. Day of June,

Communty News & Events

a suggestion for you gents, if you are having trouble finding the uniform that is right for your character, a number of the officers who attended the ball wore civilian evening dress rather than their uniforms (some of them such as General Picton did not have time to change and took part in the battle wearing their civilian clothing)

anyhow the bottom line is, if you can't find a uniform, don't let that stop you from attending

By the way, Sere is going to be Lady Berkeley -- she and Sir George were married earlier that year. He is the eldest son of Admiral Berkeley who developed and oversaw the system by which Wellington was kept supplied during the Peninsular War. Like most of Wellington's staff during the Waterloo campaign, Sir George himself was a veteran of the Peninsula, and was at one time colonel of the 35th Regiment of Foot. He's also a Knight of the Bath -- anyone know where I can find a KCB to wear?

Royal Court of Naples: Closed temporarily for Abuse Behaviors!

Communty News & Events

Serenya,

We are very happy to hear that LL was able to take care of the problem. We all know how heartbreaking it is to put so much time and effort into something and then have something go so terribly wrong. If there is anything we can do to help, you need only to ask.

yours,

Aldo

Squash Holds Decapitated King Louis XVI's Blood

History

The fascinating part for me was that someone just happened to have Henry IV's head lying around (they didn't quite fully explain who has it now and what they are doing with it). What an interesting sort of paperweight or doorstop.

With regards to some disappointing news...

Communty News & Events

Hey Folks,

As many of you know, in just the last week or so, we have had two of our SL 18th century communities shut down: the new Venezia sim and the Royal Spanish Court of King Carlos IV. Many of us -- colleagues, neighbors and friends -- were very sorry to hear about this. These communities both offered very intricate and impressive builds. The sim organizers and architects put a lot of hard work into creating these builds. It's not easy to get an historical SL community started, or to run it successfully for any amount of time. Some really great, creative people were involved in these communities, and they deserve a lot of credit for having accomplished what they did.

We want to convey to the members and regulars of both sims that we share your disappointment and sadness. To the people of Venezia and the Court of King Carlos IV, we wish you well in whatever you choose to do next.

Sincerely,

the Administrators and Residents of La Rocca Sorrentina

Yes, I certainly would like to come visit, and look forward to hearing more about what you are planning, as well more details about your historical time frame, nationality, etc.
