I think they look great! We've sure come a long, long way from Ruth ;)

Added bonus they come with AO overrides.

Wondering if this is a test of Sansar avatars??

Great looking avatars, this will be great for newcomers! I've always said those ugly mesh avatars would be problematic since they just didn't fit with any clothes, skin, etc in SL.

I remember joining SL for the first time, using those avatars with that little detailed skin, trying to make something out of the horrible system hair lol.

Can they still be used as the base for editing a shape to match individual preference? One of the things I deeply, deeply dislike about the Mesh avatars available for purchase is that you're stuck with the shape. No matter how nice (or realistic, or idealistic!) that shape might be, it's not individual.

Of course that's also the reason I was slow to start adding mesh clothing to my inventory. The wasp waists and gigantic bosoms we saw so often might fit well in a Victorian brothel, but not so well elsewhere. Fitmesh has helped, and so has the entry of more designers into Mesh fashion, but I still find myself frustrated by bits of alpha showing around the edges on an avatar that doesn't exactly match the five molds, or a gown that pairs the hips of a skinny child with the bustline of a porn queen.

Yes, they can be used asa base shape hence the word "classic" in their descriptions :)

ETA: The mesh starters were an interesting idea but really not very practical as you had to throw them out & start again if you wanted to get any clothes that would work with them. I'm impressed how well these turned out using a basic avatar.

You're comment gave me an idea, what if the more creative members of the community got together to make a courts "starter pack avatar, with a dress, hairstyle and an AO maybe. It could be avaiable at a major court sim, or even in the MP.

I think that is a fabulous idea! I'd love to see a starter pack for all the eras....ancient Rome through the 1940s even....for each historical sim/community in a sense.

That's actually a pretty sound idea! haha

When I started RP-ing, I always found it irritating being ignorant of what kind of stuff I should look out for for my RP look or where to even find it. xDDDD

One for each major or community-favorite time period would be wonderful! I think maybe the 18th century would be a good start, since it seems to be the all-time favorite in the courts.

Absolutely! I can't make clothes (my skills are limited to 'fiddling' with paintings and furniture) but I will help any way I can! Just holler. TwelfthNight did a wonderful write up of the fashions of the 18th century for the DECADES festival . . . it explained so clearly the why we all looked that way! To include her write up would be a boon for a noob I would think.

The where to find it is important...I find myself biting my tongue a good bit of the time when somebody tells someone who wants to stick her/his toe into the 18th century to go shopping at one of the what I call (tactfully) "slut wear shops" with fantasy french clothes.

It would be wonderful to have "starter packs" available.

Long-ago there were some basic clothing optionsfor 18th century France but nothing recently.

Though I'm useless were clothing is concerned, I'd be more than happy to provide the space/prims &distribute something from the Coeurs.
