It was pointed out to me that I didn't make enough (or any, save for one) Grand Habits du cour. What better way to get pent up energy out than to make some? Here we go - meow meow meow.
For presentation at court, women had to wear le grand habit du cour (the grand habit). Full court dress consisted of a heavily boned bodice with short sleeves, a full skirt over a large hoop, and a long train. This ensemble was all made of the same fabric, typically silk or satin brocade. The grand habit was worn for the most formal court occasions such as presentations, balls, baptisms, and marriages of members of the royal family. The panniered skirt and petticoat, wider than the average Robe la Francaise, would be highly decorated.
